Welcome to your 2026 Spring Orientation at UOW!

This Orientation is for students commencing their studies on campus at the UOW Wollongong campus or UOW Innovation campus. We've brought together everything you need to start your journey, with resources, activities, and information to help you feel prepared and connected.

These Pre-Orientation Activities will guide you through key steps such as subject enrolment, tutorial registration, and completing your compulsory modules, so you can get organised before Orientation and the start of session.

How to enrol at UOW

This important video guides you through uploading a photo for your Student ID Card, as well as available course fee payment options. See the UOW Get Started webpage for more information about enrolling at UOW.

Investigating your study sequence

The 2026 UOW Course Handbook is an online guide that will help you understand your degree requirements and access up-to-date subject information. This resource is accessible via the UOW Handbook webpage.

Enrolling in your subjects

Visit the UOW Tutorial Enrolment webpage to learn more about the process and how to secure your preferred tutorial times, including guidance to help you navigate tutorial enrolment effectively.

Many subjects require you to enrol in additional classes alongside lectures. These classes may include tutorials, computer labs, and practical sessions.

Find Out When Classes Are On: You can see what days and times classes are available for each subject on the public subject timetable. The timetable will also tell you how classes will be delivered.

Find Out When Class Enrolments Open: Opening dates and times vary for each faculty and subject, but they normally open up to 5 weeks before session starts. Make sure you know when to enrol in tutorials for each of your subjects.

Secure a Class: Securing tutorials (including labs and workshops) can be competitive. Make sure you are at a computer at the exact time enrolments open to increase your chances of securing your preferred times.

To help you get started at UOW, all students are required to complete two online modules. These modules will guide you through your transition to university, support your studies, and help you contribute to a safe and inclusive UOW community.

Make sure you complete both modules by the end of your first session—otherwise, your results may be withheld.
Once you’re enrolled, you can access the modules anytime. We encourage you to get a head start by completing them early.

Start Smart Module

UOW is committed to supporting your success, both during your studies and as you prepare for your professional career. The StartSmart module is designed to help you understand what is expected of you as a UOW student in relation to academic integrity and your conduct, and connect you with resources and support to strengthen your academic skills.

Learning Consent Module

At UOW, preventing gender‑based violence is not only a legal responsibility – it's a shared and essential responsibility across our community. The Learning Consent module reflects current best practice in gender‑based violence prevention and awareness, as required under the National Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender‑based Violence.
